1997 Impreza L

"the lil' wagon that could"

I bought this car from a friend of mine for a VERY nice price.  I had driven the cars on a few occasions during the 48Hours drive and had concluded that when I bought my own Subaru I would try to create a replica of this car.  Little did I know at that point I would be the owner of the exact car which I had figured on using as a model.  At this point I need to thank my friend Kyle and his wife Kristen for the sweet deal they gave me on this car!

The car was purchased with the following modifications:

-JDM aluminum WRX hood
-WRX front brakes
-WRX rear swaybar
-2.5RS springs (lower ride height)
-KYB-AGX adjustable struts
-Exceed lightened flywheel (14lbs)
-Exceed stage 1 clutch
-WRX 6disc indash radio
-Kartboy short shifter
-2.5ltr short-block with 60K miles on it (not installed)

Along with the good came a few minor issues:

-1Qt. oil consumption every 1000 miles
-home-repaired front end (looked fine but still needed some finishing touches)
-unknown timing belt
-a brake issue narrowed down to the need of new pads
-some rust on the roof from a trim screw
-wobbley shifter knob
-leaky power steering pump
-no working A/C

All in all the few minor issue's were nothing much to be concerned about.  The worst was the oil consumption which I had wanted to replace the engine with the larger 2.5ltr engine anyway and the stock 2.2ltr engine would last long enough for me to get that put together.

Below are some pictures of the car the night that I bought it:
